This is NOT funny!!!!!
Ok, after reinstalling an older version of Winamp, and using that version for about 4 months, I decided to give Winamp v5.24 a go. The result:
It starts, then crashes. The user panel doesn't even come up. The crashing was verified by the Windows Task Manager. I did everything the installer asked me to do. This is BS. Has anyone else experienced this problem? EDIT: just reinstalled Winamp v5.111, and now IT'S giving me shit. |
No. Clean install? System specs? HJT Log?
|
Clean install? You mean, did I delete the old version? No, I didn't. No HJT log.
|
More info would be useful, like system specs, details of the error message, and a HijackThis log (see here for instructions).
Chances are a simple clean install will fix the issue. [edit] re below, Happens to me as well at times ;p |
Well then,
No clean install? Make certain that you do that first: Full Uninstall -> Reinstall procedure (aka: clean install) No system specs? No HijackThis log? No list of plugins? Required if you are to be helped in any significant way: Information required when posting After you can confirm a clean install (with no 3rd-party plugins and/or skins), then if the problem persists, and you've provided full system specs and a HJT log, I'm certain that a knowledgeable moderator or member here can help you. [EDIT] --> Sorry, siebe83. Didn't realize you posted as I was typing. |
I had roughly the same problem as him. Does the a Windows Error Message box come up ("The application Winamp had an unexpected error")? If so, you can ask for more information and trace the problem. I found it to be a .dll file (ieframe.dll), which makes sense, because it unexpectedly shuts down only when the Media Library window is open (it contains a small IE pane at the bottom) and I just recently upgraded to IE7 (I have heard people with similar problems rolling back to IE6 to solve the problem). In any case, is it possible to delete or turn off that dll? I really don't that tiny pane of information, and not having the Media Library window kills the functionality of my Winamp.
