Moved from Bug Reports to Tech Support.
We cannot reproduce this problem. WMA files play perfectly ok with or without the ML. Make sure you checkmark "Windows Media Audio" under the Audio Support section of the Installer Options (Pro/Full/Bundle versions, not Lite, ie. Lite doesn't include WM support). Also, if Windows Media Player 9 or higher isn't installed, then you also need to make sure "Codecs and system libraries: Download and install (if required)" is checkmarked on Screen 6 of the installer options. This will then download & install the required Windows Media 9.1 codecs during the installation process (you may be prompted by your firewall to allow the wm installer to access the internet). What did you mean by: "Download and install wma plugin"? If you were referring to the old WMA plugin availabale on winamp.com/plugins then that plugin is no longer compatible with Winamp 5.2x, and the only way you'll get WMA files to play in Winamp is to follow the above instructions. Though you may also be able to get them to play by adding ;WMA to the Extension List in the DirectShow Decoder config (Prefs > Plugins > Input > in_dshow > config), but note that in_dshow doesn't support DRM-protected WMA files. If the problem persists, then please provide more info, including Windows OS, etc. A sample WMA file might also prove useful. |
Egg,
llei32wang posted 4 times in succession in another person's thread just prior to starting this thread in Bug Reports (which you have since moved here). Perhaps you'd like to merge/move those other posts of his in the other thread to here? Otherwise, his problem, which has nothing to do with Kaorichan2's problem in that thread, may throw that whole thread out of kilter. He keeps 'blaming' his problem on the Media Library, and we all know that is not the problem. Just a suggestion. ;) |
