.DCF playback?

Is there any particular way (winamp plugin or otherwise) that I can play .dcf audio files? I would appreciate any information that could help me out, I've got some .dcf files and I want to be able to play those.

Thanks!

None of those are really audio or video formats. What exactly are you trying to play?

That's a good question, actually. I realize now that I wasn't very clear with my first post, so allow me to elaborate some.

There is this old game that I have in my CD pile, and it's discontinued, and the name of it is "4th Generation" -- produced by Webfoot Technologies. The game came with it's own music sampling program, but I am unable to get ANY of it to work on XP. I don't care much about the game, I've probably whipped it a dozen times. What I do want to be able to do is find the audio files, break them all down into their individual component "quarks," and convert the songs to .MP3 format.

There was a series of .DCF-extension files that came packaged away in a specific folder, I assumed that those files housed the game's music and audio instructions.

Evidently not, based on the info drewbar discovered and disclosed in his above post (unless that's a completely 'different' .DCF format than what is used in that game). Your best bet I think is to contact Webfoot Technologies and ask them how to obtain and/or isolate the actual sound files that came with that game. But even then, the format may or may not be playable in Winamp, or may not be converted to MP3 format (which is of course playable in Winamp).

[EDIT]
Upon further investigation, the files may indeed be MP3's judging by this page at Webfoot. Now it's up to you to investigate further. ;)
