"Server Full" simply means the internet station's viewer/listener capacity has been maxed. Internet TV requires a lot of bandwidth so unfortunately the number of maximum viewers has to ne set very low. A lot of the TV stations are very popular, so it is not unusual to see the "Server Full" error message.
The SHOUTcast Radio/TV service simply provides a means for the internet-caster to stream their station and as a viewer/listener you benefit from the service. The stations are independently owned and operated. Any policy relating to max viewers is set by the station and the limitations of their streaming capacity. To get Winamp to auto-reconnect on a "server full" message, turn on Repeat. However, use it with extreme discretion. If the repeat function constantly tries to reconnect (see hammering) to the server you are not going to make the station very happy. There is the possibility the station could ban you. If there is a long period of time (silence) before the Winamp attempts to reconnect via the repeat function, there may be a workaround. Try DrO's silence dector might prove helpful. It is a DSP/Effect plug-in. Basically you can tell SD to replay after x number of seconds of silence, caused by no connection, if Winamp is still "playing" (thinks it's playing) the stream. See attached screenshot. Incase you are interested, DrO's SD plug-in is a resopnse/result of the "Detect Silence / Trigger Event" thread. |
