BEST Techno/Industrial/Alt Station?
What is the best one out there?
I'm looking for one that plays a huge mix. -My life with the thrill kill kult. -Velvet Acid Christ -Front Line Assembly -Apoptygma Berzerk -Fugazi -Front 242 -Lords of Acid -Skinny Puppy -The Chemical Brothers -Orbital -Daft Punk -Machines of Loving Grace Well I guess you get the point. A nice mix. There are WAY to many bands today to have favorites like 5 years or more ago, but even so these are the styles where I can list the names readily. Thanks guys. |

I prefer Spiderpower Sounds myself. Plays a combo of industrial, EBM, and trance. HTH.

dude.... your scope is way too big.
See what you are looking for is going to more than likely be a site that plays industrial/goth and then also some trance/techno/dance. There genres are too far apart and too different. Granted I love the fact that you apprently have a wide taste of music (which is something that we all need), but the fact of the matter is that most people do not. Additionally, most industrial listeners will say that techno blows monkey balls and vice versa. The result being that it is not profitable for one station to play both. Half the time the industrial folks will be banging then a techno song comes in and they all leave --- but the techno group tunes in until an industrial song comes in and then they all leave.... Get hte idea??? Because of this a station will not be able to keep a userbase for long periods of time. Hence, no profit because no one is going to wanna pay for adds on a station where the average tune in time is the length of one song.... |

I remember back in the day, Cyn Surreal's Darkdoors Radio played everything under the sun from shoegazer to new wave to futurepop. That didn't seem to diminish her fanbase. :) --Randall |
Actually, I kinda do have to agree with you there. I started out with bands like Skinny Puppy back in the 80's/90's and somehow made it to techno. Guess it is all a type of manufactured sound if you get down to it...
However, I dunno if I could go back to those hard core bands anymore. Plus, the music has seemed to change a little in the past few years. Anyway, I reminisce.... |
