Remove Background Clutter

Hi,

I have been using WINAMP for a while but not to the level I think I need for this issue. A friend of mine recorded his daughter at a karaoke contest the other day with a digital camcorder. Of course, the audio portion is a bit muffled and there is background clutter, people talking, etc.

I have been able using a separate utility to pull the audio off of the AVI video. Is there a way to remove some of this clutter and perhaps enhance the vocal/intrumental portion of the track? I realize it can't be perfect, but some improvement would be great.

Any help would be appreciaed.

Thanks.

Greg

use virtualdub to split the audio from tha avi and remux it later.

i don't know what dsp you could use to get rid of the noise. i'd start asking at the doom9 forums.

Thanks. I was able to make some changes using the EQ and other EQ plugins. Whether or not they're better quality.

Greg
