I have a problem now. All my regular playlists are just blank on my iPod. The names of the playlist show as existing on the iPod but there are just no songs in them. I don't know what to do.

abu 2nd October 2006 07:21

Strange. I use it every day with a lot of playlists, of course.
Maybe you could send your iTunesDB file (put it somewhere on the web), then I could have a look at it. See the FAQ

I'll upload it when I wake up tomorrow. I appreciate your help.

Do you see any songs in your Songs list on the iPod? I know that when I was still using pmp_ipod then I had a problem like yours. In the end I had to do the whole iPod restore thing.

Can iTunes read your iPod?

**UPDATE**

In response to IGTHORN:
Yes, all my songs are still in the iPod library. Actually, the more I messed with the playlists and the iPod.....winamp started crashing. Around that time, It appeared as though all my songs were gone but I just ran the iPod cleanup 3 and it found them.

General update to problem:
I deleted all my regular playlists manually from the ipod and than manually sent each playlist in winamp to my iPod. Each playlist sent to the iPod this way as a funky coded name to it instead of the intended name for the playlist. For example, one of the sent playlist is supposed to be named "No Genre Barriers". Instead, on the iPod, the name is all coded like plf23465.m3u (something like that)

I'm going to upload my ItunesDB file.....where can I find that on my iPod?

See the FAQ, one of the last questions is "What is necessary for a bug report? "

You said youuse Winamp 5.3? I wonder if that playlist naming problem is introduced with 5.3... (I don't use that yet)

[EDIT] Oh yes, a try with 5.3, and I have the same problem. Seems they changed something again that broke it :( :(

Stick with 5.24 if possible

Stupifier 3rd October 2006 08:09

Ok, so Winamp screwed with the Playlist stuff yet again. I temporarily fixed the problem by just manually transfering the playlists to the iPod and renaming the coded transfer names to their real names......seems to work alright.

I have a patch on the website, 1.43p02 should fix this issue. Please try it, and give feedback.

Stupifier 3rd October 2006 16:59

I looked in my itunes folder on the iPod and found two ItunesDB files....that is Itunes and ItunesDB.old

I am uploading both right now.

Here is the link to the zip file containing both itunesDB files

**UPDATE**
I'm in Winamp 5.24 now and the playlist transfer works fine. When I reverted down to 5.24, I didn't notice that I had to load all my playlists into winamp again. Once I did that, The transfer was fine. Do you want me to try the Playlist tranfser in 5.30 with the new patch now?

abu 3rd October 2006 17:09

Your playlists in Winamp look fine? Or is there anything lost due to the downgrade...?

For nico18 (see other thread) everything works with the patch 1.43p02. For me, it works with WA 5.24 and 5.3 now.

Please re-check all your sync settings, maybe you deselected some playlists during the tests?

Stupifier 4th October 2006 05:25

Abu....thankyou for your help. Everything is fine now. I appreciate your time on this plug-in.

abu 4th October 2006 07:11

Would be nice to know if all is fine with WA 5.3, too... (I expect it to be ok)
And sorry for the inconvenience - I really wonder why Nullsoft had to change this once again :(

Stupifier 4th October 2006 08:47

Oh I'm sorry Abu, I didn't say. I am now using Winamp 5.3 just fine with the new update and everything. Got all the newest updates and its fine for me. THANKYOU

Thanks!
