Album Art for Ipod
I have recently converted to winamp coz itunes is starting to really bug me. The only problem is that there seems to be no way to view album art via winamp. Is there a way to do this? if so, how?
Im still on dial up unfortunately, so i guess im trying to ask if theres a way i can permanently download the album art and add it onto the track, so i can upload it onto my 30Gb video ipod |
Not yet, but it is on the wishlist.

I had similar problems with album art. Go to this site for a program called "tag & rename". http://www.softpointer.com/index.htm It is well worth the $29.95!
I trade music a lot! The problem I have run into is you don't know how the person ripped the music, what program they used & the list goes on. This program writes the correct tags and gives you the option to download album art, comments and more from five different amazon web sites. So when I rip or trade the first thing I do is run it through tag and rename. I have used iTunes for years but my new company laptop does not play well with that software. So I recently converted to winamp! I do like how iTunes has the option to automatically record "compilation" CD's into a compilation folder. Winamp will do it but you have to change the way you music is labeled and the output folder. Kind of a drag if you forget to change it back! I know personally! iTunes does it automatically if you select it in the options. Maybe winamp can add this to their wish list. Anyway! Here is a small quote from part of the softpoiter web page, (pay attention to the second paragraph): "Tag&Rename since it is the only tag editor and organizer which has full native support for: mp3 (ID3v1, ID3v2.2, ID3v2.3 and ID3v2.4 tags), MusePack mpc/mp+ (APEv1, APEv2 and ID3v1 tags), Windows Media wma, asf and wmv files, Ogg Vorbis/Flac/Speex (vorbis comments), Apple iTunes and iPod aac (m4a) files including mp4, lossless m4a and protected m4p files, most popular lossless codecs including Monkey's Audio, Flac, Wav Pack, Optim Frog, True Audio, Apple, Windows Media lossless and Wav. Tag&Rename supports many additional tag fields including lyrics, cover art, rating, mood, disc #, part of a compilation, album artist, classical music fields (Composer, Conductor, etc.), file related URL's and so on. With Tag&Rename, you can:" Hope this helps. I use this program all the time. A few clicks of the mouse and your music is tagged and rename how you want it. |
Indeed, I highly recommend tag & rename if you're looking to do some serious administrative work on those large collections.
