Change active sound device without restarting Winamp
I have programmed a small tool, which enables me to quickly change the Windows primary sound device via a traybar icon menu.
The problem is, that Winamp (or the DirectSound plugin) needs a restart to recognize that it has been changed. I want my little tool to be able to tell Winamp to also change the output device, stop playback and start it again (without restarting WinAmp) to make this change take effect. Therefore it would be enough, if I knew how to tell Winamp that it should reload the winamp.ini without a restart, since I can change the appropriate value in the config file easily. I already have the ActiveWinamp plugin, but unfortunately it does not have such functionality. |
Can't anybody help? :(

it's not possible to set the output plugin without manual interaction (unless of course you simulate open the preferences, selecting the output page, selecting the correct option in the list and then closing the preferences)

But maybe there is a way to reload the winamp.ini while Winamp keeps running?
