TV Shows menu.

ml_ipod fails to put anything in the TV show menu. I've tried tagging my videos with atomicparsely and also putting [TV] in the comment, but they always end up in the Movies section.

I think I remember abu saying he'd need someone's iTunes.db file who had the TV Shows menu on their iPod. Would anybody be willing to help out fix this problem?

abu 11th October 2006 05:08

It would be best if I had a iTunesDB that has one video showing up as TV show, and another that is a simple movie. That way I might be able to figure out the differences.

If at some day donations reach the price of a video iPod, I'll buy one, and then I'll fix this issue. I promise! :)

Hi,cina

I fixed TV shows menu problem.(v1.44p05)

TV show need "show name" for visible entry.
"show name" is grouping TV shows entry.

So it is necessary that we input "show name" manual.

How to input "show name":
edit comment "[TV]abc" or "[MTV]abc" -> show name is "abc".
If you don't give show name, default "unnamed" is used.
Show name is only needed with [TV] and [MTV].

I'm sorry for replying late and writing poor English...

Thanks Koniyan!

I have another suggestion for the implementation if it's possible though. Right now, there is no way to specify the Season Number and Episode Number and other things.

Would it be possible to perhaps use the tags in the Media Library to specify this information on the iPod? So maybe:

Artist --> Show Name
Title --> Episode Name
Album --> Season Number
Track# --> Episode Number

This way all the shows will be separated into folders by season and will be in chronological order.

Thanks again.

Does anyone know what tag to use for Music Videos? So they show up in the Music Videos section on the iPod?

Besides this "[TV]abc" works perfectly ;-)

abu 18th October 2006 15:18

Quoted from Changelog:
...
* new: prefixes in comment, [MV]=music video,
[TV]=TV show, [MTV]=music TV show (FR:1515642)

cina 18th October 2006 15:20

[MV] is for music videos I think.
[MTV] is a music tv show.

EDIT: whoops, got beaten to it. ;)

Yawg81 18th October 2006 15:49

Thanks :-)

Any chance of doing this, Koniyan?

Koniyan 29th October 2006 12:12

Sorry for replying late...

Season Number and Episode Number can't embed string, can only number.

What will I do for best?

cina 30th October 2006 03:52

Just a number should work fine, I believe. For example, let's say I had the latest episode of The Office, the tags would look like:

Artist: The Office
Title: The Initiation
Album: 03
Comment: [TV]
Track #: 05

cina 11th November 2006 21:11

abu or koniyan, would it be possible if one of you could implement this? I would very much appreciate it.

abu 11th November 2006 22:08

If anyone, then it must be Koniyan - I have no possibility to test the video stuff.

Koniyan 12th November 2006 13:52

Hi,cina

I'm sorry for replying late....I was very busy.
I improved handling TV show.

I think abu will release new version soon.

abu 12th November 2006 20:03

Ok, try 2.00p03

cina 13th November 2006 20:54

Thanks a ton, koniyan! It works perfectly! Now all my TV shows are in order.
