Fullscreen video display error

Hi, I'm having a problem with my freshly installed Winamp 5.4. It's a bit hard to explain properly, but when playing in fullscreen, it only displays a couple of random horizontal strips of the picture, with the rest being black..and the part of the picture that you can see, these couple of horizontal strips where the picture is being displayed "correctly", changes a few times every second, resulting in a flickering and basically unwatchable video. Hope you understand what I mean by that...
Other info...AMD system, fresh Windows/drivers/Winamp install. Dual display (CRT and TV) from GeForce 7300GS, video will play properly if played in a window on either screen, but will mess up as above if switched to fullscreen, or if the windowed video is dragged from one display to the other. Video plays properly (windowed and fullscreen) in WMP, altho that's only on the CRT since its the default. I've tried various videos in different formats, all do the same thing. I've tried turning off fullscreen OSD and video overlay as suggested in threads I've found, with no luck. It's really getting annoying, any help is appreciated =)

sorry, typo, its version 5.24
I already have all the codecs installed, the problem only exists when I try to play in fullscreen. I installed the thing u suggested anyway and it didn't work. It's a problem with the fullscreen in winamp, works fine fullscreen in WMP...anyone got any ideas?
