HELP, major problem with creative audigy+ cr speakers

When i play a bittorrent or other file video file with any media player, (WMP, and Winamp both display it) i get the on screen message:

Audio track:
inpur description 4800 Hz, stereo 134 kbs mp3 (libmad)
Current input bitrate: (it fluctuates)128-160kbps

I am also experiencing some kind of pronounced reverb and delay additions to all sounds. If i hear a sentence follwed by a break it repeats notibly several times aftr it's heard first...

I have the barebones version of winamp, but the same goes for WMP, and i'm about to reinstall the redundent quicktime player to test it on that...

I have installed new drivers for the creative audigy ZS standard sound card and also the creative 5.1 550 surround speakers...the visual and auditory problems occur with headphones or speakers, therefore i believe it's the auditory hardware and software, especially due to the stereo kbps being featured in the on screen message...

Please help, it's driving me nuts, i don't feel inclined to dl more bittorrent files right now, i have tried forum searches, updating drivers, chnging creative setting...perhaps i missed the setting to change, no cigar so far!

HELP! please...

Don't install QuickTime.

At a guess, you're using ffdshow directshow filters, yes?
If so, right click on the ffdshow system tray icon (it should appear when you play a divx/xvid video), and uncheck OSD.

If the icon doesn't appear, then go to:
Start > Programs > ffdshow> Video Decoder Config
and uncheck OSD in the left pane/column.

It also looks like you could be using ffdshow to decode mpeg audio.
In which case, go to:
Start > Programs > ffdshow > Audio Decoder Config
Uncheck OSD there too
and see what else is checkmarked (enabled) in the left pane which might be causing the reverb/delay (eg. uncheck both Freeverb & Delay).

If you're not using ffdshow, and/or if the problem persists, then please read this first before replying.

thank you very much! yes ffd show filters were running in the syst tray, i should have mentioned it and looked into it...

Unchecking OSD removed all the all screen messages, which is very relieving, thanks!

However going into the audio decoder config proved that OSD was not checked there, nor was delay or freeverb, which perplexes me...Crystality was the only Codecs checked here, whatever that is...

Thank you very much, after a restart, removing the crystality option in the audio codec menu removed the sound issues!
