Updates to the Disc field in ID3v2 tag will NOT save

1 Attachment(s)
Changes to the Disc field in the file info window will not save.

If I make a change to the Disc field and click the ‘Update’ button, my updates will not be written to the file.

However, if I make a change to the Disc field and ALSO make changes to the Comment field and click ‘Update’ the changes to the Disc field WILL write to the file.
I can then go back and remove the Comment I added, click ‘Update’, and my change the Disc field is still there.

Seems like a bug … can anyone help?

If not offer a solution ...
can someone else validate this is also happening on thier system?

Cannot reproduce, the Disc field will be updated on my 3 test files.

Have you any 3rd party plug-in installed?

jph6t 16th October 2006 13:55

Yes, I have the 3rd party plug-ins listed in my signature in the original post.

Koopa 16th October 2006 13:58

FLAC Input, ML Bookmark Categoriser, DrO's ML Lite-n, I'm using too.

The only thing you could try is a clean install, I haven't any other idea, sorry. :(

Others maybe?

Yes, this is a bug in the (updated) in_mp3.dll. It *will* save as long as some other field is modified also (just go to another field, hit spacebar and then delete the space). It's been fixed internally which is why koopa isn't seeing it any longer.

Benski,

Thanks for your reply.

So I assume this fix will be included in the next release?
Meanwhile I'm fine using the work around. :)

Should this thread be moved to the "Winamp Bug Reports" forum?

Koopa 17th October 2006 11:49

No need, 'cause the bug is already fixed for the next version.
