sound-problems

Hello, i hope someone is able to help me

Everytime if i play music after some minutes my music repeats every second, if i close winamp, the sounds don't stop ...if theres a song called hello and they sind hello
it stops and always hel hel hel hel hel ..... it doesn't stop

i dont know why this happens, i bought a new pc and plugged my usb-headset on and installed some extra-drivers with software, (5.1 software).
With my old pc there were no problems but now i get every time problems with winamp. I tried to reinstall but i got the error again. I don't know ..i will try to contact Gembird (AP 5.1 Headset) ...but anyone, has an idea how to fix this problem?! hm.. would be nice =(

Try the DirectSound config tweaks. Although not necessary close Winamp, Windows and reboot the computer after making the DS tweaks. Some have found changes don't fully take place untill a reboot.

No luck? Please provide system and Winamp specs.

Okay...tried everything - after 20 minutes of playing, the sound collapses and repeats and i can't stop it, if i close Winamp the Sound continues until i kill the process winamp.exe in Taskmanager, but CPU-Usage is at 0 at this Process. After killing winamp.exe the sound stop and i may start winamp again, otherwise it doesn't work..

Well maybe the Driver is corrupt with my new Mainboard :(
but Gembird-Support isn't answering my e-mail >:-(

Tiger347 17th October 2006 18:41

Asus M2V
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+
1GB DDR2-667Mhz-RAM
GeForce 7900GT
Hauppauge x88 TV-Card

Microsoft Windows XP Home SP2 all Updates
DirectX 9.0c <- updated 2 hours ago to the newest version of c-version

The problem i have, seems to be the Driver..
Its a AP-5.1 from Gembird
I Downloaded their Drivers...with my old Hardware there were no Problems, now i have problems, but only with this driver, i wrote my second support-mail to Gembird, i hope i get an answer :(
Otherwise i don't know what i should do :(
never had problems..but now -.-

Sounds like it is a matter of getting the correct driver version. Let us know if you had success with Gembird support.

I found a forum where some german people (like me^^) had the same problems, but no reply,..did they fix it? or not? i now wrote to Gembird-forum ...well i hope this could be fixed :(

edit:

LOL..
www.gembird.de offers 5.1 Drivers
www.gmb-online.nl offers 7.1 Drivers (for an 5.1 Headset?!)

Thats strange...its the same company and other drivers.
Well...the German-driver is corrupted and the other one sounds like in a metall-orchestra ....god damn it

Unfortunately, because the problem is not specifically related to Winamp we can not provide much help. However, I will mention the following...

Normally we would suggest updating the soundcard driver by going through you computer provider or the card's manufacturer. However try the following instead
  1. Control Panel > Sound and Audio Devices icon
  2. Hardware tab
  3. Select your soundcard from the list
  4. Properties button
  5. Driver tab
  6. Update driver button
We usually suggest going through the manufacturer, because downloading third party drivers from Microsoft is not always dependable. Who knows, maybe downloading them from Microsoft update might work.

Good Luck
