got any third party plugins?

if so get rid of them first.

I have the same problem with winamp 5.31 and internet explorer 7. Tech support seems to have ignored this problem.

In fairness to tech support I received this post from them today, 11/11/06. It worked for me and maybe it will help you.

Hi. Can you try removing ml_xpdxs.dll (Predixis MusicMagic plugin) and see if the problem still occurs (with Winamp closed, just move that file out of the Winamp\Plugins folder).
