Global hotkeys - EQ toggle does not work
Hi to you all.
This evening I played around with the Winamp v5.31 Global Hotkeys. I assigned a hotkey for toggling the EQ function. But it does not seem to work. I tried different key combinations: Ctrl-Alt-Shift-E, Ctrl-Alt-E, Ctrl-Shift-E & so on. Nothing works. Also tried other letters and combinations. To my knowdledge I do not have any other 3rd party key controller program installed. All other global hotkeys is working. Could this be a bug? I hope someone in the forum have an idea. 1) Have checked is Winamp is not saving my settings. Checked the "Read only" option on the Winamp install folder. RESULT: The issue remained. 2) Checked if disabling global hotkeys then closing winamp, opening winamp enabling global hotkeys, closing winamps and then opening it again resolved in a "Cannot assign these Global Hotkeys" dialog. RESULT: No. So anyone with a good idea? :::::::::::: XP SP2 2.8Ghz [Hyperthreading enabled] 1GB 400Mhz RAM Plenty of HD space. Winamp v5.31 [061025] :::::::::::: Thank you in advance. /Redranger |
Issue reproduced only with modern skins, works correctly with classic skins. Also reproduced on earlier versions of Winamp 5.
I don't think it is a bug. Modern skins handles/toggles the EQ differently. It may be the different way in which modern skins handles the EQ that prevents the toggle EQ hotkey from working. |
i think it mainly depends on whether the modern skin has the eq window essentially embedded or as a separate window. i would have thought as a separate window then it'll work fine but obviously since we only support the bundled modern skin it's more a quirk of the design i'd say but it's a hard one to judge

Quirk or not, issue was reproduced on modern skins with separate and "embedded" EQs.
And yes, it is hard to judge. |
