Odd 6.1 Problem

Hello
Here's my problem:
I am using a 6.1 logitech audio system and an Audigy 2 ZS sound card.
Since some day, strangely, winamp started playing with only 3 of the 6. I have set the hardware accelleration and the direct sound output, the card is correctly set on 6 channels but i can't hear music from all 6. :eek: I really don't know what to do... Please, help
Thanks!

play files with 6 audio channels, and all six will work.

mp3's are 2 channel, aac's are 2 channel, m4a's are 2 channel.

no offence, but the audio quality sounds like shit when you play an mp3 with so many speakers. it might as well be mono.

i'd say what you did was turn off allow surround sound
preferences(ctrl+p)-->playback-->check allow surround sound.

surround sound systems should normally be used for gaming or dvd playback. they're not made for listening to music.

Yeah that's true but the system used to use left channels for left, right for right and middle for both so it wasn't that bad..

in Windows Control Panel\Sound and Audio Devices\Volume\Advanced, what's the setting?

in the Speaker setup you should use something like 5.1 or 7.1

like in this image:

or maybe you must activate the advanced features of your audio card with some software \ tool \ additional control panel provided by the hardware producer

bye ;)
