Volume Control Issues

Basically when I use Winamp's volume control the volume of the music does not change, even if I try to mute it. I been having this problem for the last couple of updates, and maybe someone can help. Anyone?

do you have any third party plugins?

something like kernel streaming, or asio output plugins?

Nope no 3rd party plugins. Even did a full reinstall.

1. Winamp > Ctrl+P
2. Plug-ins > Output
3. Make sure 'DirectSound' is the active plug-in. The highlighted plug-in is the current/active one.
4. Configure button
5. Device tab
6. in the dropdown menu make sure the device is 'Primary Sound Driver' or something that closely reflects you current sound card.
7. Other tab
8. make sure 'Enable volume control' is checked/selected and in the dropdown menu select 'linear'
9. click Apply > close out of Prefs
10. close & restart Winamp to ensure changes fully take place
