Missing the mp3 encoder

I'm trying to enable the transcoding feature in ml_ipod. I have winamp 5.3 but when I enable transcoding and sync my ipod i get an error telling me the encoder can't be found, and I should use a different format to transcode into. I just want to put the flac files i have onto my ipod as mp3's. Is there any other way to do this or can i re download the encoder i need?

ml_ipod is considered a third-party plugin and really isn't supported, as Winamp now has native iPod support via the Portable Media Player (ml_pmp and pmp_ipod) that comes with Winamp. For ml_ipod support, it does have it's own forum, though.

Either way, the Pro version is needed to encode in MP3. (If you have an iPod, try MP4/AAC).

Have pro, mp4/aac doesn't work either. Same error. The ml_transcoder.dll plugin is installed

Delete the unsupported 3rd-party ml_ipod.dll, upgrade to 5.32 Pro, and make sure iPod Support is checkmarked in the installer options.

Note that although the Transcoder (aka: Format Converter) is now also included as from 5.32, it isn't actually required for transcoding to portable players, because ml_pmp/pmp_ipod uses its own built-in internal transcoder.

Naturally, you also need to make sure that the Nullsoft FLAC Decoder and MP3 Encoder are both checkmarked in the installer options.
Providing us with a List of Plugins will show us whether they are present or not.
