Swedish prince detained in Miami
Prince Carl Phillip was shooting a documentary in South America, with instructor Folke Rydén, accompanied by agents from the Swedish special police forces, Säpo.
When the journey continued onwards to the United States, Säpo deemed it to be safe enough for the prince to continue unaccompanied, unfortunantly for him though, he arrived a day later to Miami than the rest of the crew. At passport control in Miami airport he qued up along with regular passengers, where he was questioned my immigration police, and from what I understand, they didn't believe him for a minutte, and travelling alone, noone was there to confirm his story. "I'm royalty from Sweden", Prince Philip told the officer, showing his diplomat passport, as he told him - what was true - that the purpose of his trip was to shoot a documentary in the United States. That was it for the passport police in Miami, was a Swedish royal supposed to be traveling alone, que up with regular passengers, and enter the country to work? that was simply to much for them to believe. So Prince Philip was thrown in detention, until the next day when his story was confirmed by the Swedish embassy in Washington. I got the impression that he thought it was quite exciting, said instructor Folke Rydén. Story here (in Danish) ROFL :D after being though immigration in Newark, i can sooooo imagine the situation. |

The foreign one with all the money.
Wait. |
"rofls"
(Under the picture in the link: ) "Den svenske prins Carl Philip måtte tilbringe en nat i detentionen, fordi paspolitiet i Miami ikke troede på, at han var kongelig." ... (my (possibly poor) translation: ) "The Swedish prince Carl Philip spent a night in detention, as the passport police in Miami didn't believe that he was royalty." |
Pretty much.
"The Swedish prince Carl Philip had to spend a night in detention, because the passport police in Miami didn't believe that he was royalty." If this happened to Madonna in Sweden I bet she'd make a huge stink. After all, she's royalty too. |
and British. forls:beaaaaaaah:

She's American
|
Wait, you're telling me the British accent wasn't real? Nah. Next, you'll be telling me she wasn't really Jewish, either.

I think these customs guys have a problem. It took me about 10 seconds to find pictures of Price Carl on the Internet. Didn't someone have a laptop?.
http://images.google.com/images?q=pr...0carl%20sweden Gives a hundred pictures of the guy. I woulda been saying "Yep, that looks like Prince Carl.....bye.....". But with the efficiency of the US government, it took overnight?. Handsome kid, isn't he?. |
*shrugs*
Seems stupid to me. In particular, don't you think they could've, you know, called the Swedish consulate? Or, you know, Sweden? And what was so suspicious, anyway? He had valid identification, right? So what was the problem? See, here in America, we don't have security in airports, we have "security theature"... Step right up! Have your bags scanned like we could find something other than a horribly disguised bomb! Take off your shoes! Show us your easily duplicated boarding pass! Let us show you the bomb "sniffer"! Watch as we confiscate your water, toothpaste, and any other liquid or gel, for absolutely no gooooood reason! Augh. Either do something effective with security in airports, or just let me get on the plane without the hassle, for fuck's sake. |
