I replaced the screens on my pickup truck's cap/topper/camper-top/whatever-the-f***-you-wanna-call-it. A dog ripped up the screens when I was trying to bring it from being stray to a new home (more info on the bin post about it). The materials including the screen stuff, the rubber spline stuff, and the tool that pushes the spline into the groove were all under $9, so at least it wasn't an expensive job, but it took a couple hours to do, since I had to take the windows and frames completely off the truck to access the groove where the screens&splines push in. After resizing the pictures, you can't really see the screens very much at all, but they're there.

Today I cooked dinner, cleaned and worked at home, because I have an injured leg :)

Listen to nothing but music, do a little bit of reading, and watch some TV.

Ditto bar the reading bit ... I'll surf the web instead while listening to music!

I replaced the hard drive in my laptop. I kinda killed the old one with a forceful lid closing.

swingdjted 15th January 2016 22:13

That's amazing. I would have guessed many other things would break before there could be force enough to damage the hard drive. I'm glad it was only that; luckily, hard drives are less expensive and more easily replaced than other components, so long as data was backed up.

I went to work and then went to look at tire prices. The car needs 4 new ones.

Looking after the kids. Both have a fever of over 40 degrees for some days now.

swingdjted 17th January 2016 20:05

Heh, I saw 40... That's cold in Fahrenheit. Over here in the USA we're still behind on doing the sensible thing that would be converting to Celsius.

I think the drive was actually dying already. I think I just gave it a final push. It's all good though since I now have a bigger hard drive that works better than the old one. It still worked kinda it was just really slow. <1MB/sec operation. Now it'll never work since I took it apart...

@ WotL: Are the kids any better? Mine keeps blowing snot. No fever for this little girl, but a minor upper respiratory infection. I just looked up the conversion of 40... That's a serious and potentially damaging fever, especially for their ages. What is causing it?
