Podcasts Get Messed Up?
Odd glitch, and I am looking to anyone to confirm that I am not crazy.
I connect my iPod to two PCs, different folders for storing stuff. Whenever I connect between them all of my Podcasts stop showing in iPod's Podcast folder and in the appropriate folder in Winamp's iPod view, and act like a regular song. Glitch, or know item with a workaround? |
You don't have the same podcast files on both PCs, I guess.
Then this is "expected behaviour" ;) Reason for this: Internally the Winamp query engine is used to get a list of all podcasts (simplky by querying for genre=podcast). If the podcast file is not in the ML, it can not be found, so it is treated as a regular track. Odd. Very odd. But I don't know what to do about that, except rewriting the whole code ;( Kind of a workaround: If you connect to one PC simply to listen to songs and don't want to update your iPod, hold the Shift key while connecting and while ejecting. Then there should be no write attempt to the iPod. That does not work if you want to make chenges to the iPod (like transferring songs to the iPod, reordering playlists, updating ratings...) Available only with latest patches!!! |
