m3u playlist saves files in lowercase
Once every few times I save an m3u playlist, it'll write the path and filename in all lowercase letters.
The lowercase playlists play fine on my computer but my mp3 player is case-sensitive so the playlists don't work when I sync them to my mp3 player. I am running Winamp 5.35 on Windows XP Home SP2 and I don't use any Winamp plugins. |
Cannot reproduce. All the play lists I save save with the case they came in.
How are you saving them? full uninstall and reinstall full system specs |
I did a full uninstall and reinstall and it didn't fix the problem.
I figured out how to reproduce it though. Every time I use the playlist command "Remove Duplicate Entries" it changes the filenames of all the songs to lowercase. Just to clarify, the Artist - Title in the playlist window still has the proper case but when I click a file and press Ctrl+E it shows the filename in all lowercase. |
with the remove duplicates feature as of the last few builds of the jtfe plugin (which provides that feature) was altered to completely rebuild the playlist (due to other changes in the plugin) and it internally stores the filepaths in lowercase (mainly for speed). so when it creates the new playlist it uses the filenames it has stored and hence why you're seeing what you are.
