Scroll Wheel & Volume in Vista
I searched before I posted this and also tried KatMouse to see if that might help, but neither did.
When I'm using Winamp 5.35 in Windows Vista Ultimate, I have a problem adjusting volume using the scroll wheel. The scroll wheel seems to work normally when I scroll up (volume increase), but when I try to scroll down (volume down) it takes a lot more spins to reduce the volume than normal. It seems to lack sensitivity one way, but not the other. I know it's not the wheel itself or Windows Vista because it works fine when I scroll in say Internet Explorer or Acrobat. The scroll wheel in Winamp also works fine when I'm in Windows XP, it's just the combination of Winamp and Vista. Any ideas? -Thanks |
did you try updating your mouse software(or drivers)
i don't have the problem. |
I have a Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer 2.0 and I'm using IntelliPoint 6.1, which is the latest version I think.

Nevermind. Apparently this issue is common, but still unsolved.
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=266231 I've noticed that it only affects WIRELESS Microsoft mice. If you plug in a wired mouse, the scrolling works fine. Since this doesn't appear outside of Winamp, it seems to be a Winamp issue. Hopefully it gets fixed in the next release. I could be wrong though. If anyone has a wireless Microsoft mouse and is running Vista/Winamp with no scrolling issues, speak up. |
