Download Java 6 Runtime
On the Wiki I found an example of a script that will check the version of the installed Java Runtime and if it's too old it will download and install the required version.
However I didn't manage to make this work for Java 6. The reason seems to be that the example uses Java 5 with a download link from an unsecure site. Java 6 is only available from a secure site where the download only works from my browser if I first accept a license. When using this link from the installer it gives an error. So I see two possible solutions to this: someone points me to a link where Java 6 can be downloaded from an unsecured location (I didn't find any) or someone can show me how to add some kind of license-acceptance page to the installer that would allow it to download it from the secure site. Any input, ideas, hints or solutions would be greatly appreciated. Mark |
If it is permitted by Sun, you could add it on your own server, and add a separate license page on your installer where users must accept java's license before proceed to download and install the last version.
