Songs Won't Show up on iPod
 

I sync my iPod with winamp, and that goes fine: the songs show up as on the iPod with winamp (and sharepod and songbird too), so I know that they're on there. The problem comes when I unplug the iPod and try to use it normally. None of my songs are listed, and the iPod acts as if there were no songs at all, not even the ones I added through iTunes long ago. I've done a search, but most solutions to this problem depend on the fact that winamp doesn't recognize the iPod, and instead treats it as a USB device. This doesn't seem to be the case, though, because I've been syncing under the "portables" area on the left, winamp recognizes all the playlists on the iPod, and it even has a little iPod icon next to the device name on the left menu.

I can provide more info if needed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It'd be nice to be able to use my iPod.

You are hitting the "Eject" button before you unplug it, right? (Bottom right of the screen in the Media Library). That basically tells it to close and write the iPod's database.

Yeah, I've been doing that. I've figured out a temporary solution that works for now: I transfer the music with winamp then add or remove a song using sharepod, which re-writes the database. Like I said, it works, but its kind of a pain, and I'd like to be able to do it all in winamp. Thanks for the suggestion though.
