Unable to change artist/song info. Help?
Curiously, it worked everytime I had to change the informations, except with one band. I like to have my library correctly organised, and having a false band name just annoys me to the point of bad dreaming about it (almost). I right click on the song(s) I want to edit > View file info. From there, I try to change and add some informations about the song but I get a message saying "Can't modify tag(s)! File is read only". I'm new to Winamp and I'm doing pretty good with it actually, except concerning this problem. Can anyone help me?
P.S. Also new to the forums so I don't know if this is the appropriate place (I guess it is) nor if this question has been answered. I apologise if it's the case. |
Find the file in windows explorer and right click it > properties > Make sure "read only" in unchecked. You can also goto Summary tab and see if you can edit the tags from there.
I'm not sure, and too lazy to check, but perhaps this is what happens if you've added the file to your ML then moved the file or renamed the filename. Try rescanning your library and make sure in media library preferences you have "remove missing files" checkmarked. Can I also recommend mp3tag for any of your mass tagging needs (such as multiple albums, or extracting %title% and %artist% from the filename) People usually don't know about mass taggers and are pleased with them. |
