file association isn't there
this is the first time i have had this problem with years of using winamp. i have xp pro. when i open windows explorer to the folder where i keep my music, all the song files are NOT associated with winamp. then, the songs that are visible quickly associate themselves with winamp. but i cannot scroll quickly through all my songs until windows explorer associates every song, page by page. even though the description of my songs are listed as Winamp Media File the winamp icon next to each file isn't there right away. so, i have to go thru my entire list of 5000 songs, page by page for windows to put the winamp icon next to the file. and when i close windows explorer and reopen it, i have to do the same thing all over again. in winamp preferences, i did check to use winamp agent and to associate all files with winamp. i have a creative audigy sound card.
if anyone has had that problem, i would love to know how to solve this. thanks |
Sounds more like a Windows issue and not a Winamp issue. Might be a messed up icon cache. Warning, this is a little advanced:
http://www.windowsnetworking.com/kba...IconCache.html Might want to look at this as well: Winamp Filetype icon is always blank (default Windows icon) http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....86#post1956786 |
