Song not playing after save.

So I recently downloaded a song I found off the internet and it plays perfectly but when it gets saved as part of a list or just individually it doesn't work, any help would be greatly appreciated.

What is the filename and extension. Some formats are restricted so they can only be streamed. Also, you might not have downloaded the song it's self, but a playlist fine pointing to the song.

what format?
What extension?
How big is the file?

is it a streaming playlist?

like a *.asf or *.pls file?
