Winamp for Mac OS X

Sorry if this was posted already. Didn't see it.

When I download Winamp for Mac, the .sit file, then drag it into my Applications, and then click on it to open the program I get the following message...

"not supported by this system"

Can someone help me? I'd really like to get the Winamp player cuz itunes has driven me insane! LOL

Thanks in advance

There is no Winamp for OSX. There was a port way back in 1999, but that is long dead.

Unrelated, SIT files are StuffIt.

Wow, that is really unfortunate. So thankful that you responded so quickly. I can't believe how much the Mac actually holds you back in so many things.

I don't think those old binarys work with the later osx versions. (and definitly not a mac with an intel cpu)

i'd reccommend amarok(mac version coming soon)
and songbird (made by ex winamp employees)

ROTFL.

You might consider iTunes on the Mac; it seems to work pretty well.

There's dozens of players; go to Tucows and just look. Or just type this into google: "mp3 software for Mac". I'm typing this from a PC, but I also own a couple Macs, and believe me, you aren't limited in any way on either platform.

In fact, even the suite of applications available for Linux these days is impressive.

Remember, Google is your friend.

You have to be in classic mode which is OS 9
