"open file location" from playlist no longer available
 

Whatever happened to the "open file location" or something similar to that in the playlist? It used to exist in previous versions, right? I remember being able to right-click on an item in the playlist, and open that file's location with the actual file selected automatically.

This very useful functionality isn't available in the playlist in Winamp 5.5 with Bento skin or any other skins. It's available in the Media Library as "Explorer item folder". I personally think it should be called "Open item location."

Please add this to the next update.

It's a third-party plugin called Find File On Disk [gen_find_on_disk.dll] and it is written by DrO. It adds the option "Find file on disk (Crtl + F)".

And is available as part of the Essentials Pack,
which I guess you must have installed at some point before, but not yet for 5.5.

How does one find just that one plugin: gen_find_on_disk.dll?

I too am bummed that this feature was removed on my upgrade to 5.5.

Download the Essentials pack... Its just about 270 KB. While installing, uncheck other plugins so that only this plugin is installed.
