Spliting main window and playlist ?

Hey guys.

The question was how i could sepperate the playlist with the main window, with the new skin (BENTO) and as JonnyMac wrote you can't without downloading this skin:

With the Bento skin? You can't. The Bento skin is a SUI (single user interface) or All in one skin. The panels can not be separated or moved.

If you want separate windows/panels, there is a Bento look-alike classic skin. However because it is a classic skin, it will not have some of the same features as the Bento Modern.

If you like the SUI concept but want to separate the panels try the following skins…
Kameleon DUI skin
mMonkey DUI
However, when attached the positions are still "set in concrete" therefor can not be moved within.

why is it so big the main window ? the playlist is fine but the main window is totally fucked up

While the main/player window is in focus (currently used), Ctrl+D to toggle double size.

For classic skins the main/player and Equalizer windows can only be normal or double sized. The playlist, ML and video windows can be expanded by clicking & dragging in the lower right corner.

It makes it totally useless for people who have 2 monitors hooked to there system. Who want to watch the video in screen while do something else in the other.

Winamp is whole doesn't like multi-head systems. Visualization takes over all monitors by change resolution on all monitors. MilkDrop 2.0 is getting better at handling 2 monitors.

I love the looks of the Bento skin but without the ability to detach the video, it is totally useless.

OK. Then....

Don't use any single UI skin (Bento included) and instead use another skin that has detachable/separate windows. There are thousands of skins to select from.

I find myself in a similar position here, though to say it is "totally useless" would seem a bit juvenile, sorry.

I love both the appearance and the functionality of the Bento skin and if I had the choice I really would prefer to use it. It is excellent not useless.

However, I need the ability to detach the video screen for independent projection and without that function it looks like I am stuck with using the Modern skins. This allows me to continue, but its hardly a problem solved.

Unless anyone knows of a Modern skin which has a "Bento" panel to display the file info as it plays. :cool:

i always have winamp on monitor two but im watching videos on monitor one.
one of the reasons why i dont use winamp as a video player

Here's one for the wishlist:

Can we take the Bento skins out of the main distribution, that way we don't get these stupid problems where people think Bento is the only skin available and it does not work for them. (If this idea of mine catches on, dump the modern skin from the client installer also. We do have the skin database where these skins could be DLd from). :)
