Smarter alphanumerical sorting

I'd like to see better sorting when it comes to numbers. I understand that when sorting alphabetically "10" comes after "1" but before "2" but I can't see any real use for sorting this way, especially when organising music collections.

When sorting by track Winamp knows that track 2 comes before track 10 so why should the album Shine 2 come after Shine 10?

Is there any way that this could be implemented, such as different sorting rules when "words" that contain only numerical characters are being sorted so that they are sorted as a "whole" rather than digit by digit?

Bump. Is this possible?

Strings are not the same as integers. Well I assume that Winamp treats these pieces of data as different types. If you create a rule to place 10 after 2 then what would happen to fictional data such as "10 fat blokes" and "2 hot ladies"? Should they be sorted incorrectly? I think sorts are fine the way they are, this is just a quirk of computer sorting.
