Preventing Winamp 5.5 from downloading album art - how?
 

Hello,

I don't want Album art files filling up my harddisks (actually, I don't need it at all).
How can I prevent downloading that stuff?

Will this also prevent Winamp from modifying the timestamp of my MP3 files?? (this is something that's really annoying!!)

Winamp does not download album art automatically. You have to tell it to, so to prevent it from doing it, don't do it.

I get all these JPG files downloaded automatically, I don't do it manually if you mean that. that'w why I guess (and hope) there is a setting for that?!

Winamp doesn't download album art automatically.
However, a program that does in Windowes Media Player. Look in the settings for that and I THINK there is a way to turn that off. (although from my memory, I think you are stuck because its kinda difficult)

I never hear MP3s with another program than WinAmp.
And get files named like
AlbumArt_{412326FB-EF8B-4268-9564-446C7D772537}_Small.jpg

That is Windows Media Player, not Winamp doing that one.

The following might be the pertinent info...So apparently WMP11 does automatically download album are in the background. Earlier versions of WMP would alter or delete MP3 tags in the background.
