Changing monitors
Hi,
I searched the forums (and the rest of the net) but did not see an answer to my problem. I have a laptop with a docking station that allows me to run multiple monitors. (running Windows XP) The problem is that I often run winamp on one of these extra monitors, but when I use my laptop in stand alone mode, I cannot see winamp. I guess winamp thinks the other monitors are still attached and does not display itself in the built in monitor. Is there a way to reset winamp so it will be visible in the laptop's build in screen? I know it runs because I use the keyboard functions, but can't see what I am doing! Thanks, -Bob |
Give these a try:
Windows (main, ml, pl, etc) disappearing off screen: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=164598 |
Thanks,
Yes, I saw that thread. (or ones like it) Unfortunately it did not help. I am using the classic skin, so the studio.xnf info is not relevant. Also, I do not use the media library, so there is no gen_ml.ini either. Finally, I don't see a winamp.ini anywhere. I created one in the same directory as the executable, and stopped and started winamp a few times, but it did not store any data there. It is storing the screen position someplace, because it seems to remember the screen postion between stops and starts, but where? I opened and closed the program a few more times, moving it each time, and then scanned my hard drive for files modified in the past few minutes. Nothing seems to be the place where this info is stored. Does winamp use the registry perhaps, or is it hiding files or something?? This has me scratching my head. Thanks, -Bob P.S. I just made sure I am running the latest version of winamp, and am running on WinXP SP2 |
