problem converting from m4a to mp3
When I try to convert a file from m4a to mp3 I get a "decoder not found" error message......no instructions on how to find the decoder, or what the hell I need to do.....
Any help would be appreciated. |
OK. First read this reply by DJ Egg in another thread. Also note that you need Winamp Pro to convert to MP3.

I have winamp pro
downloaded and installed it this afternoon.

Do these .m4a files play ok in Winamp?
What does it say in the "Format Info" section of the 'File Info' (Alt+3) for these m4a files? eg. code: What exact method are you using? Right-click the actual M4A file entry in the Playlist or Media Library -> Send To -> Format Converter? Set Encoding Format to MP3 Encoder, Set the mp3 format/bitrate to taste (what settings are you using?), Set up the Destination Folder & Naming Scheme accordingly... Or do you have "Use old file name and path (just change extension)" checkmarked? Can you provide us with a link to a sample m4a file? Please also include your List Of Plugins (my_plugin_list.txt c/o One For Nunz plugin): http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....161361#plugins |
