Cannot install skins on vista
 

Whenever I attemp to install new winamp skins from ANY page, whether it be winamp skinconsortium or deviantart, they download, it asks me If i'm sure i want to install the skin, i click yes and winamp reverts to the classic version. Help please?

Well, let's see... one of two possibilities that come to mind immediately would be...

1. You mistakingly installed the Lite version of Winamp, which has absolutely no modern skin support.
2. You correctly installed the Full version of Winamp, but mistakingly UNchecked modern skin support in the installer options

In either case Winamp would immediately default to the Classic skin, as you described above.

So, redownload Winamp, but make sure that it's the Full version and make sure that modern skin support is left checked in the installer options.

There have been several reports of skins not downloading or displaying correctly with Vista SP1. See DJ Egg's reply from the Winamp 5.531 released thread for some suggested fixes.
