Winamp Mic Ducking
Is there any microphone plugin or built in program i am not aware of for extra control for a mic?
*my goal is to have control of ducking...you know when someone is speaking into the microphone the music volume drops a little bit and when the speaker is finished the music resumes normal playing levels. It is preferred that the program changes volume automatically when a signal is received through the mic port. If such a thing is unheard of with winamp are there any experienced programmers who could tell me about how feasible making such a plugin is. Im not familiar with c++ by any means and dont know how much play there is with the winamp plugin creation. |
Only way something like that will be possible will be if the speak > speaker have a delay... or else the volume will just drop.
I guess someone can create a plugin that will mute the mic... until it detect the sound.. then fade the volume down for music... then enable the mic sound... and when the mic doesnt have any input for 1s... the music is return to original volume. |
Is this a SHOUTcaster question?
|
no this is a question regarding the many pro keys i bought for a dance studio and trying to get the software to do all the stupid shit they want to do with it. So yeah, i have a manual ducking plugin but they want automated without spending a bunch, so the search continues. If theres a way to make a plugin that detects when audio is coming in through the pc mic input and drops the volume a certain amount of db and someone out there feels like making a few bucks lemme know. We can set up a basic design.
