playlist tree (allows playlists in playlists)
here is the idea...
right now, playlists look like this in the ML > Playlists ---trance ---chill ---pvd ---aerosmith ---queen ok, now what im talking about, is the ability to tree the playlists more than they already are (which is currently only one level). it would enable something like this > Playlists ---> Electronica ------> Chill ---------Boards of Canada ---------Telepopmusik ---------Ulrich Schnauss ------>Trance ---------Tiesto ---------Armin ---------PvD ---------Singles --->Rock ------Aerosmith ------Queen now the idea here is that i could double click "electronica" and it would load in all the playlists below it, in order. instead of sorting the individual songs, i could sort groups of songs. in the player list window, it could show all the songs individually, but with a huge bracket on the left to show that they are all grouped together. and while its true that i can just go play that artist using the "audio" button in local media, the advantage of this is being able to filter the songs i dont want on that playlist, and match them up with another artist easily. i also have lots of singles which i would mash together. and of course, (using my example) i could put tracks into the trance playlist and they would not trickle down or anything. another way to think about this idea is that the playlists that are contained in playlists are like cue files. |
I was thinking the exact same thing this morning and would have posted a duplicate thread had I not spotted this just a few threads in. Great idea! (though I would say that)
What are the chances of this being implemented? |
