No sound with my X-Fi ExpressCard anymore
I all of a sudden lost sound with WinAmp when using my X-Fi expresscard on my laptop. It worked before. All other programs work fine and it doesn't. Winamp also still works with the onboard sound too. I can not find if there is a place to select which sound card winamp uses specificaly. I've relinstalled Win Amp and that had no impact. I also reinstalled my drivers for the sound card again no impact. I also already checked to see which sound card was set as the defualt one under he Sound control panel. Everything checks out except it still doesn't work. And I can't stand the onboard sound vs my X-Fi. Thanks for the help I searched the forums and havn't found any similiar problem.

Hmm says not active and wont activate. Says no direct sound installed. I will try reinstalling directx 9c. I already tried Directx 10 reinstall after I reinstalled winamp, but I guess there completely different. Do'h.

Nope that did not fix it. It says directsound is not instaled and too install directx. Well reinstalled DirectX 9.0C and that did not solve that problem. Any ideas?

Yup its something wrong with Directsound because wavesound works. But I am not sure if I get the benefits of my sound card from wavesound.

No idea how to fix it?
