Cannot get 5.1 sound to work SB Audigy SE

I tried all the suggested things and I cannot get the 5.1 sound to work, only the right left and subwoofer work. In my diagnostic software that came with my sound card, it properly outputs sound in all 5 speakers, but I cannot get winamp to play in all 5 speakers.

Is it Vista? The Player FAQ says that because DirectSound was removed in Vista, Winamp has broken 5.1 support and I don't know if this has been fixed as of 5.541.
