ipod & problem mp3 files
First time poster, long time browser...
I'm running winAMP v5.541 with the 3rd party plugins ml_ipod and ml_sony. ml_ipod can do everything itunes is capable of from within winAMP, -which is great but I've been experiencing problems with some files or albums transferring to Ipod and being unplayable on the device. I dl'd itunes to troubleshoot this issue and found that those problem files won't even import to itunes! Upon further investigation, i noticed that from winAMP, rt click on track in playlist>>View file info... in the Format Info area of the window the problem files all have Original: No unlike the files that transfer correctly. This is probably a more general Q not specific to winAMP, but I'm having a heck of a time figuring this one out. Any suggestions/fixes? |
[resolved]: the lineage on some of these files goes back a long way... some probably to the pre-suit days of napster. The files that were causing trouble were either corrupt or given a false .mp3 file extension. Using "the free wma mp3 converter," I was able to reclaim almost all of my files and use with ml_ipod.
