Playlist in Language other than English
1 Attachment(s)
Some of the OS file names and Tag data of my MP3's are in languages other than English (eg Russian). They all display very nicely in the Winamp Player, and also if you look at PLaylist entry, however when saved as a playlist the non English characters are converted to ??? (question marks).
When the playlist is loaded, the MP3 which have non English characters cannot be found as the file name is saved incorrectly (with ???) in the playlist, the Title information now shows ???. Also the file info Button "Copy to ID3v1" converts non English characters in the ID3v2 to ?? in ID3v1 OS = Vista Pro (SP1) The OS supports these characters Notepad on Vista supports these characters eg: OS Filename = Тату - _обот.mp3 Tag = Тату - _обот (Note: in the above text the '_' is a Russian 'P' see attached jpeg) In the playlist this appears as #EXTM3U #EXTINF:234,???? - ????? H:\MP3\Russian\???? - ?????.mp3 |
save as m3u8 and not m3u as m3u playlists are ansi only whereas m3u8 saves with utf8 encoding.
with the id3v1 to id3v2 copying, that's to be expected i believe since id3v1 stores as ansi/your local code page which will cause the ?? to appear when the conversions don't match up (though i'm possibly wrong) -daz |
Thank You DrO
There just had to be a simple solution Works great now |
