Timer and stream stops and does not reconnect
 

I have searched for an answer to this and may have missed it but here goes...

I am running multiple instances of winamp (4) on a machine that is pulling an mms stream. I then use the edcast DSP to send to a server in MP3. I am having a problem where winamp just stops and does not reconnect... i have it set to reconnect automatically and repeat selected which does work when it is an actual stream disconnection. When the problem happens, the timer in most cases stops where it was and in others it goes back to 00:00. In either case I need to just hit play again and the stream starts. It sometimes happens in 5-minutes and sometimes in several hours. Memory and CPU usage are both very low. Thanks for any help!

I found a solution...

I setup two Windows Server 2003 machines with a fresh instal which is the same setup where I was having the original issue. I then setup two windows XP Pro SP3 machines. I ran 4 instances of winamp with edcast on each.

Both server 2003 machines exhibited the original problem where the streams would just randomely stop and not reconnect.

The windows XP Pro machines continued to run without any problems.

So the solution for my case is to not use Server 2003.
