Playlist Queuing Annoyance

I've had Winamp for a while now and never ran into any problems until recently.

The way things used to work, when I double clicked a song file, Winamp would automatically open and play the song I double clicked. If I double clicked another song, it would clear the playlist and play the latest song I double clicked. Let's say I have two song files, song file A and B. If I were to double click A, then Winamp would play A. If I were to double click A, then double click B immediately afterwards, Winamp would play B.

This isn't the case anymore. After my XP OS became corrupt, I did a clean wipe and reinstallation of XP. I downloaded the latest version of Winamp(version 5.541)and found that If I double clicked a song, then an hour glass would appear next to my mouse for about a second. If I double clicked another song while the hour glass was present, it would queue the song instead of immediately playing it.

I'd like to get Winamp to behave how it did pre XP crash. Is this how Winamp is intended to behave or is it a bug on my part?

I've followed the instructions for a clean uninstall and reinstall and I've never downloaded anything except Winamp. (No third party plug ins). I've also searched the forums and google for that matter, but came up with no results that I found to my liking.

I'd really appreciate it if anyone could help me. Thanks.

Prefs -> File Types and/or Prefs -> Media Library -> Library Options tab

It's a no go. Those are some of the first things I messed with.

Like I said in my original post, it only queues if I double click a file while the hourglass is present. This is killing me!

Well, obviously, something is wrong with my settings and I'm completely clueless how to fix them.

So, instead, could anyone possibly tell me or link me to a place that could tell me how to do a complete and total wipe of winamp? Thank you.

Although, I'm starting to think it might have something to do with Windows XP.

Where are you double-clicking the songs from?
Windows Explorer folders?
Winamp's Media Library?
Elsewhere?

What file format? mp3, wav, wma, video, other, all?

Winamp -> Prefs -> File Types
Make sure "Enqueue files on double-click..." is NOT checkmarked.
