How do I know if a plugin still work?

Like this one... It's from Winamp's site... WiltAIM

I'm using AIM 6.8 and Winamp 5.5

I installed it, but what do I do next? Nothing pops up, please don't flame me, I'm new to all these plugin stuff. Be kind and explain to me. Thanks.

I am not familiar with that plugin myself. You may be able to activate/configure the plugin in Preferences (Ctrl+P) > Plug-ins > General Purpose.

Plugins, especially third-party ones, may behave very differently and hence often need specific instructions. Third-party plugins are not supported on the forums, so if you don't get the plugin to work you may want to try contacting the plugin author for support.
Or try a different plugin.
