Media Library -vs- Playlist
I am having a bit of an issue in how I organize and view my media. Both the media library and the playlist editor windows have certain features that I like, and dislike. The media library is great because of its ability to customize columns with a lot of useful data. The playlist editor, on the other hand, HIGHLIGHTS what is currently playing, bumps the list up when the next song is off-screen; yet it lacks any sort of details besides song title and duration.
Can I turn on track highlights and auto-bumping for my media library, and just forget the playlist editor entirely? I could then uncheck it from the view menu and gain more space for columns that are actually useful, as opposed to duplicates of title and duration. I am running version 5.541 in "bento" skin mode. Any help would be appreciated. :) Edit: I just found another useful hotkey that works in the playlist editor but not the media library--space to jump to currently playing item. Arrrrrghhh |
Can I turn on track highlights and auto-bumping for my media library
No. The Media Library is a library of media available. You can add things from it, play things from it, but it has no knowledge of what is currently being played. While the Playlist Editor contains a list of things to be played. So it is a list of what has been played, what is currently being played or what is to be played. |
