MP3 encoding for Creative Zen

I have a problem with MP3 Encoder settings for my Creative Zen 16GB: I've tried various settings but all encoded MP3s come up with an "Audio Format Not Supported" error message when I try to play them in my Zen.

Never had that issue with my old ipod. Is the Zen just being a princess about this or am I missing something?

Zen works fine with the trancoder. Remember, you need the Pro version to transcode to MP3.

Otherwise...
full uninstall and reinstall

Um, yeah, thanks... I don't want to seem ungrateful but if that was the case I wouldn't have posted this really, right?

Extra info... Vista Ultimate, latest Winamp Pro, transcoder setting CBR 128k high quality (but also tried other settings), sources are either CD rips (mostly) or the odd random Hype Machine download. Instructions for generating that "All Plugins" list don't work cause there's no "One For Nunz" plugin. It's a virgin Pro install, Creative plugin is NJB 0.54, Format Converter 2.4

Anyone?
