Kona is pretty good. I've had a Kenyan blend at one time that was pretty damn good. Wish I could remember the exact type.

baafie 13th February 2009 03:19

I can't tell the difference between various brands so I get the cheapest available. I do think coffee made with expensive machines generally taste nice, but I can't afford those. So I'm stuck :)

deeder7001 13th February 2009 06:04

I don't drink coffee. I just drink stuff at Starbucks.

iomegajaz 13th February 2009 06:44

Cheap and instant, please. I hate real coffee.

Wally, you're doing it wrong. :p

MidnightViper88 13th February 2009 07:50

Coffee's for closers

kingo'mountain 13th February 2009 12:19

i'm one of a few people who cant stand (almost) any kind of coffee, tea maybe when i'm dying of cold,

i'm willing to drink iced coffee, either just cold or as a slushy (grated ice?), the manufactured ice coffee here is obviously a cheap imitation to the real thing, but i find the real thing too bitter for my taste, no matter how much sugar i put in it, i will just puke it later, so thats a good alternative for me...

my mom drinks black coffee, from our local (israeli) company called "elite" (we spell it elit), they have recently bonded with strauss, a worldwide name, so for that i'm sure the US has elite's products too..

i really dont know why coffee is such addictive, does the caffeine in it have something to do with it? is it the fact that you feel dependant on it just to wake up? (much like cigarettes), i have noticed people just get angry (not pissed) if they dont have coffee in the morning, like drugs, do you people see it like that?

gaekwad2 13th February 2009 12:25

It's a drug.

cooky560 13th February 2009 14:30

Depends on my mood.

jtbse 13th February 2009 18:07

Have tried many, but always come back to good ol' Eight O'Clock Whole Beans:

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...A280_SH20_.jpg

Strong and black. Keep the beans in the freezer and grind as needed.

But I also have to say I really enjoy a good cup of café noire from any café in Paris! :D

fc*uk 13th February 2009 22:02

Jamacian Blue Mountain.

Coffee is quite addictive (well, coffee is not, but the caffeine is). Speaking personally, the dependency on coffee to wake up is psychological and nothing more. Every so often I've spent a good several days without coffee and seem to wake up at the same rate with or without it. Having said that, I still drink about three to four cups a day, which is significantly down from my liter a day.

I used to smoke when I was younger and I have kicked that habit. I actually found that quite easy to do and I had been smoking a lot (little under a pack a day) for quite a few years (six or so?).

Having said that, caffeine withdraw is an utter bear. On the days that I do not drink coffee, I need to make sure I get something with caffeine by noon, or a massive headache will ensue. Sure, you can go about two to three days without caffeine before you go into withdraw ... and that withdraw blows.

thats a nice looking machine you got there Kaboon

swingdjted 16th February 2009 04:26

I have a machine from the late '80s from Mr. Coffee, and a couple bags of Gevalia in the freezer, but neither Renee nor I drink coffee. We just have it for overnight company. We'd never get them out of bed without it.

It's not "even though", it's "because" (and Tim Hortons is spelled with caps too. :))

It's no contest between Starbucks and Tim Hortons. Seatle can keep their sewer water.

Tim Hortons is the only coffee that I will buy when I am out somewhere (mainly when I visit Toronto).

Being in a border state and city to Canada, I do find myself across the border frequently and have had Tim Hortons on both sides of it. There is a difference between the US and Canada, and Canada's is clearly better. :)

rockouthippie 17th February 2009 05:59

I use a non-descript espresso machine. I've found that Costcos coffees are a good bang for the buck ($9 - 3.5 lbs) labeled Seattle House lately.

If I'm going to splurge, I get Kenya AA ($14 a pound) from BJ's coffee company here in Hillsboro, Oregon. It's a small coffee chain/custom roaster. Probably the best coffees I've ever had.

Paul_Bags 17th February 2009 07:57

Coffee is disgusting... caffeine is goood tho. Bourbon & cola (alcohol and caffeine) is my drink of choice, although it doesn't serve well for a before work pick-me-up. (It's probably better I make sense at work, and I can't drink less than 6...)
Or maybe a cola demon (h t t p : / / w w w . d e m o n e n e r g y . c o . n z / p r o d u c t s / k i l l a - c o l a - 4 4 0 m l)

As for a hot drink I'd go for a hot lemon, or a blackcurrant, or a milo.

Shrug.

PulseDriver 19th February 2009 18:27

I drink Friele Coffee every freakin day. Many times a day. The whole day. Continuously.

Nico1980 19th February 2009 18:58

Did you like Starbuck's coffe?

rockouthippie 19th February 2009 20:04

Starbucks....... bland bile for yuppie idiots.... acceptable only if you're only other choice is Folgers.

iomegajaz 23rd February 2009 10:08

Being a coffee snob is fucking awesome.

Douchebags.

gaekwad2 23rd February 2009 11:38

It's not our fault you have no taste buds.

iomegajaz 23rd February 2009 22:26

Sure, have a preference, just don't be a douchebag about it.

Not directed at you, btw. Moreso rockouthippie, Wally etc. Poor form.

Wildrose-Wally 24th February 2009 01:10

If you want to talk about poor form, look at your own posts. Asshole.

(that's pretty mild compared to your posts lately)

Paul_Bags 24th February 2009 03:18

Iomega, you've taken a perfectly innocent "I like this, I hate that" and turned it all nasty and personal (just look at your sig...)

iomegajaz 24th February 2009 05:28

Welcome to me, new guy.

Wally, Seattle has two "t"s, it can keep its sewer water, and screw you.
