Winamp 5.55 shuts down
Hello,
Whenever I open winamp, it shuts down after about 3 seconds. I saw a topic that suggested changing certain settings, but since I can't change the settings within these 3 seconds, I don't know what to do. I use Winamp 5.55 on a Windows XP system (my laptop is a Compaq nx7400). Does anyone know what I can do about this problem? |
This is wha tmoderator DJ Egg said and it worked for me
Faulting module: mshtml.dll suggests some kind of Internet Explorer related issue,
possibly related to the "Show/Hide Info" button/section at the bottom of the Local Media views in the Media Library. Ideally, we would prefer to see a zipped & attached HijackThis log and a List Of Plugins: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread...id=161361#specs Does it still crash after trying the following? With Winamp closed, go to the %appdata%\winamp\plugins folder Open gen_ml.ini in Notepad Edit the following line as follows: useminiinfo=0 That line should already exist, but will probably say useminiinfo=1 If it's not there, then add it to the end (with value of "0") Let's also see if disabling the 'Add Media to Library' dialog makes any difference... Also edit this line as follows: noshowadddlg=1 That line should already exist, but will probably say noshowadddlg=0 Again, if it's not there, then add it to the end (with value of "1") Save gen_ml.ini Try opening Winamp again. |
